Eurus Energy
Eurus Energy Europe BV is an independent developer and operator of energy projects. From its headquarters in Amsterdam, Eurus manages more than 1 GW of renewable energy projects in six European countries, generating around 2.6 TWh of electricity.
Eurus Energy Europe is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eurus Energy Holdings, based in Tokyo, Japan. This international organisation has been involved in the creation and management of wind farms since the 1980s. Eurus Energy Holdings is wholly owned by Toyota Tsusho Corporation, an independent unit within the Toyota Group. Worldwide, Eurus owns a portfolio of wind and solar projects with a combined installed capacity of about 3.5 GW.
Eurus and hydrogen
Developing green hydrogen projects is an important extension of Eurus’ activities. Locally coupled electrolysers help balance and decongest the power grid, and enable further growth of wind and solar power. From its shareholder relationship with Toyota-affiliated companies, Eurus is interested in the entire hydrogen chain, especially in the field of sustainable mobility.
Besides Oosterhorn Green Hydrogen, Eurus is developing a second hydrogen project in the province of Groningen with a target capacity of 20 – 50 MW. This project is preparing its permit application. We expect to take the investment decision for this project in 2024. We are also exploring opportunities for larger-scale generation at various locations in the Netherlands and within Europe.
